Harrogate and Knaresborough MP’s Summer Tour finishes
Tom Gordon MP’s ‘Summer Tour’ has come to an end. He got out around the constituency to meet constituents, as their new MP, over the course of the week.
Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Tom Gordon has finished up his summer tour of the Harrogate and Knaresborough constituency to hear from the public on the issues impacting them.
He hosted pop-up events across our towns and villages during the week beginning 19th August 2024. This included a number of stops in the villages, and attending Knaresborough Market on Wednesday 21st August, where Tom called for continuing support for the Market.
The aim was to talk to as many residents as possible, to ensure Tom can do the best job possible of representing his constituents.
Commenting, Tom said:
“We have had such a fantastic response to my summer tour, with people queuing up to speak to me at many of the events. The atmosphere was fantastic with lots of people stopping by to congratulate me, as well as people coming to get help with issues they are facing. It was great to meet so many people. It was great to find out how I can be helping people and communities, from the smallest villages like Ferrensby right the way up to the towns.
“I have managed to pick up on a number of issues I was not aware of, particularly in the villages, which is really helpful for me. It was also great to go to Knaresborough on market day, and hear from everyone there about the positive effects of the market, and the concerns over North Yorkshire Council’s plans for it.
“Thank you to everyone who came and spoke to me during the last few days. It has been wonderful.”
