Tom Gordon Welcomes Liberal Democrat Conference to Harrogate

Tom Gordon, Liberal Democrat MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, is delighted to welcome the Liberal Democrat 2025 Spring Conference to Harrogate this weekend, at the Harrogate Convention Centre.
This is the first time since 2009 that the Liberal Democrat federal conference has been held at the Convention Centre. It also marks the first time in 16 years that the conference is being hosted in a constituency represented by a Liberal Democrat MP – last happening when Phil Wills was MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, and the event was held at the same venue.
The Harrogate Convention Centre is a key asset for the town, hosting major conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, and live entertainment. Every year, it attracts thousands of visitors, contributing an estimated £45 million to the local economy and supporting around 7,000 jobs across the district.
Since being elected, Tom has collaborated with Paula Lorimer, the Centre’s director, to help secure the necessary funding to help the Centre thrive and continue making a significant impact on the town.
Tom looks forward to seeing the Centre bustling with activity over the weekend and welcoming his Liberal Democrat colleagues, including Ed Davey, to Harrogate.
Commenting, Tom said:
‘I am absolutely thrilled that the Liberal Democrat 2025 Spring Conference is coming to Harrogate this weekend. It is a fantastic opportunity to welcome all my colleagues and showcase everything Harrogate and Knaresborough has to offer.
‘The Harrogate Convention Centre is a fantastic venue with so much to offer, and I am delighted to see it being used to its full potential, welcoming hundreds of guests.
‘I look forward to a busy and exciting weekend, meeting with colleagues and making the most of everything the conference has in store.’
